The Challenge
KAMA approached CR8 Media with a bold idea but an undefined identity. The brand had a strong slogan — “Comb That Afro” — yet the meaning behind it wasn’t clearly expressed visually or emotionally. The founder envisioned a brand rooted in youth culture, self-expression, and African identity, but the visuals didn’t communicate whether KAMA was traditional, modern, or urban. The brand lacked a clear definition, a unified style, and a visual language that matched its message.

Our Solution
We helped the founder shape KAMA into a streetwear and sneaker brand grounded in identity, confidence, and originality. Inspired by the meaning of KAMA — "comb" — we built the brand around the symbolism of the Afro comb, a powerful statement of pride, culture, and individuality.
We introduced a vibrant, youthful colour palette and bold design direction, making KAMA instantly recognizable. The brand now celebrates standing out, refusing to fit the mold, and embracing one’s roots unapologetically.
